HRA wearing course with chips
H&B Groundwork Contractors Ltd are a groundworks, drainage and brickwork company based in Hockley. They have reached out to Taydal many times for our assistance in surfacing works over the last few years. Most recently, they contacted us regarding some work based in Maldon, Essex.
We were asked to install surfacing across a busy bridge across the River Chelmer. This bridge is a main access into Maldon and is part of the A414. Due to this, the work we undertook had to be carried out overnight to ensure access could continue as normal through the day.
For this install, we were asked to install a HRA wearing course with chips to match the pre-existing road. In order to install this, we had to plane the area, this meant our friends Steve Lumley Planing joined us on site and with instruction from our foreman, planed the area prior to our installation. We then installed our material across an area of 1050 square meters. The install took just one night, completing the entire bridge in time for the road to reopen.
