50mm HRA and chips
Topbond PLC Group are a structural repair and refurbishment company that offer nationwide services for buildings, bridges and various structures. With over 40 years’ experience they have a wealth of knowledge within this sector. Over the years of working, we have built a strong working relationship with them and regularly undertake work on their behalf.
The latest work we were awarded from them was an overnight install, which took place at White Horse Lane, St Albans. Topbond had just completed some work strengthening the bridge there and required some surfacing to be installed across the bridge ready for reopening to traffic.
This was chosen to be installed overnight, to avoid disruption to traffic. This meant the bridge had been completely closed off from all traffic, so our team could work through the night to get this reopened before morning. Our friends Steve Lumley Planing were on site to work along side us, by planing the area in preparation for us to install the material.
The material that was used for this install was chosen in order to match as closely as possible to the pre-existing road. The material was a 50mm HRA with chips, which covered an area of 370 square meters. This install was seamless, our gangs finishing this well within the road closure, able to leave the site ready to open.
