SMA base course, SMA PMB wearing course
An update on the work we’ve been carrying out on behalf of Tarmac at Lamsey Lane, Heacham. This is ongoing work that has been progressing over the last 12 months, with us periodically visiting site to lay various areas of surfacing as requested by Tarmac. Recently we undertook an overnight install, where we were asked to machine lay a new road layout for this site.
The work was spread across 5 nights, under restricted road access provided by Tarmac. This meant whilst we were working, a lane had to stay open for the use of the public. To achieve this, we used orange barriers and cones to enclose a safe distance from where we were working and the live traffic, we also had traffic lights in place to ensure the safe passing of vehicles.
In total, the area we were asked to install equalled approximately 3500 square meters. We installed SMA base course followed with a PMB SMA wearing course over the entire area. Once this was done, road lining was completed ready to reopen the road as quickly as possible.
