Processed Road Planings, 10mm SMA wearing course
Stone Crest Homes are a building contractor based in East Anglia with over 35 years of experience within this industry. They have been undertaking works for Fields Farmshop & Café, based in East Bergholt and reached out for our assistance in relaying the carriageway entrance to the shop,
The project involved the resurfacing of approximately 1550m2 with the objective to restore the structural integrity, improve surface durability and ensure effective water drainage. In order to do this, we completed the installation over three phases. The first phase involved regulating of the sub base, for this we used processed road planings, approximately 140 tonnes. These were fed through our paver to create the base for our works.
We then proceeded to construct a central camber along to carriage way, this ensures effective drainage of the road and reduces the risk of standing water. Finally, we completed our install by laying a 50mm thick 10mm SMA wearing course, approximately 170 tonnes, over top of our base on the 16th March.
