SMA wearing course
In 2017, we were approached by EDF Energy to complete the driveway into Dungeness Power Station, based in Kent. The job entailed overlaying the existing damaged road that leads to the power station with SMA wearing course, to provide a suitable entrance way.
This job was carefully managed to ensure access in and out of the power station for as long as possible, causing as little disruption to the workers and visitors as possible. Using our Bitelli paving machine to lay the asphalt, following closely behind with our roller to ensure it was compacted tightly, giving the best possible finish and hard-wearing surface.
We were successful in getting this job finished quickly, causing no more than a few hours of no access to the Power Station itself.
